Green Savings: Dryer Balls

What if I told you that there was a way for your household to dry your clothes with no fabric softener whatsoever? By using dryer balls (small plastic balls with little nubs) you can skip fabric softener sheets, dryer bars and liquid fabric softener.

I bought a pair for myself and a pair for my boyfriend!

  • Your clothes will be healthier for your household (no fake, harsh chemical smells).
  • Your clothes will not have static cling issues and they will be soft!
  • You will never have to buy fabric softener products ever again!
  • Best of all, dryer balls are CHEAP!  I see them priced at dollar stores and drug stores for around $1 per pair.
  • They last practically forever.
  • They save the environment by eliminating the need for excess packaging from many boxes of fabric softener sheets or bottles from liquid fabric softener.   It's better for the earth to not throw away so many fabric softener sheets either!
  • They are very easy to use.  Toss them in with your clothes before drying them.  Then you can just leave them in the dryer for future loads.  Don't bother taking them out when you remove your clothes.

Target and Walgreens Freebies and Money Makers

Today I made 2 really small trips to get stuff that was almost nothing out of pocket. Frirst I went to Walgreens for the  Advil PM 4CT. they had on sale for $1 and I had the $1 off any Advil PM coupon from todays Redplum making all 5 I got 100% free no tax here even.  Next was my more frustrating trip to Target. I got in separate transactions 4 Gillette Fusion Power Proglides, 2 Venus Embraces, and 2 Satin Care with Olay shave gels. First transaction I got 2 of the Proglides which were on sale for $9.89 each and when you buy 2 you get a $5 gift card for free. I used 2 of the $4 manufacturer coupons we got last month and 2 of the Target coupons for $5 off that we vot this week in the Redplum. Making them $.89 a piece.  My total was $2.11 and I got a $5 gift card back so really they were free. Next transaction was the same but I paid with the $5 gift card from the first transaction. Last transaction was the 2 Venus Embraces at $7.94 each and the 2 Satin Care shave gels at $2.24 each. Iused 2 $3 off Gillette disposable manufacturer coupons, 2 $5 Target coupons that were in this weeks Redplum for the razors, and 2 Target Bogo coupons for free Satin care when I buy a Venus razor. My subtotal was $0, and I paid $.07 tax and got another $5 gift card. So yeah, paid $2.11 to start and got the rest all free and left the store with almost $13 left in gift cards. Not bad at all. Only bad part was the cashier being a bitch about giving us gift cards when we were paying so little and about letting me use the free satin care coupon when I was getting the razors free but its in their store policy! I had to have the manage out rule her twice for the whole thing and had to voice what the policy was to the manager even so yeah frustrating but they had to do it because I wss following the rules and knew it. Happy shopping!

Tresemme Review

I got the Tresemme 24 hr finishing spray and foaming moouse yesterday for the first time, and just thought I'd share what I think about them after using them for the first time today. I used them both so I'm not sure if one is better or if its both that are good, but the combination did work very well. My curls are nice and stayed all day as well as the volume. Only semi bad thing I have to say is I didnt love love the smell like I do some of my more normal brands. They smelled alright I guess it was just more of a salon kind of smell the a sweet or fruity smell. But all in all good products definately combined work good.

Good Coupon Database

Hey I just wanted to come on here quick to post about a real good coupon database that was really good when I checked it out. It's www.southernsaver.com. When you go to the website you can type in whatever product you're looking to see if there is a coupon for. It'll list every coupon there is for it right now and either where to find it or gives you the option to print the printables. Very handy. Happy shopping!

Target, Walgreens, and Walmart 10/25

I did  3 more little shopping trips today to get some clearance I had spotted before and a few food needs. Ok, I started at Target for some clearance and to grab a rain check for the tombstone. I found a disposabe Venus embrace for $4.18 and I used a $3 coupon. They also had tresemme shampoos and conditioners on clearance for $1.74 each. I picked up 2 of each so I could use the buy a tresemme shamp and cond and get a styler free. I needed moouse and also got a finishing spray. They each cost $4.49 and the 2 Bogo coupons each took $6 off which pretty much paid for alot of the cost of the shampoo and conditioner as well. Last thing I picked up there was some olay facial wipes for $4.99 and used a $2 coupon. Now I'm not sure what happened they lady at checkout was pretty confused but my subtotal was only $2.11 which was less than what I owed for just the wipes but I wasnt gonna complain.  So yeah $3.84 after tax. Next I went to Walgrens and mostly just picked up food we needed. Got 2 of the Nice! chicken wings on sale for 2/$5, 2 of the Nice! shredded cheeses 2/$3, and I wanted to redeem so I needed at least $2 more so I picked up the  jack's link jerky for $3.99 and used the $1 store coupon to get it for $2.99. After redeeming all I paid was $.99. As the cashier said all shocked, "Only $.99 for chicken wings!". Lastly I made my way to Walmart where I knew I was going to spend the most. I had to pick up some Bologna ring and a chunk of cheese that dad had wanted for with crackers. No coupons just together cost about $6.50. Also got some cheap $1.88 eggs. Land o lakes sour cream $1.88 had a $.55 coupon, refried beans $1.08 and taco sauce $1.78 both from Ortega used a $.50 off 2 Ortega coupon,  4 el monterey steak and cheese chimi's that were free with coupons and a slight money maker. They were $1 each and the cashier took off the $1.29 max price of the coupon for each. And last thing I got was 12 yogurts from yoplait at $.58 each and used 2 coupons for $.40 off 6. So not great savings but my subtotal went from about $22 down to $16.83. Thanks for reading and happy shopping!

Free eGift Cards!

I can't remember who told me about this but there is a really awesome app that you can download for you Android or iPhone. It's called Shopkick. It's really a fabulous app for couponers or really anyone who loves to shop and get free stuff for looking around the store and scrolling through ads for the different stores on the app. To sign up just click this link http://get.shopkick.com once you download it and get signed up its pretty easy. You pick what gift card you'd like to work towards earning and then head to your stores! At stores like Target, Best Buy, and Old Navy you can start earning by just walking in the door! How cool is that right? Besides that you also eatn pts or "kicks" for looking at the list of idems in the store that it wants you to find and scan. This is really pretty easy just try and remember where each idem is as you go around the store anyway so it'll really not take much of your time to do. Also earn more kicks by inviting friends to get the app. If you get someone to join for their whole first month you get match kicks for all the points they scan just for being the one that got them into it! So the more the you get the more gift cards you can get rolling in! Really try it , it's awesome love it for helping keep my bill down at stores I love to shop at. Happy shopping!

My Walgreens Shopping Trip 10/24

Hey thought I'd just pass on what I did today at Walgreens for their 2day sale. For every transaction of $30 or more you get an extra 5000 pts which is like $5 back. Sale ends today so if you wanna do this you'll have to run! Ok I did 3 separate transactions to get the most for my money with this promotion. First transaction I got 2 of the mitchum deodorants that were on sale for $1.99 each and when you bought 2 you get 2000 pts back. I also had a $1.50 off 2 coupon making them 2/$2.48 and then got the 2000 pts back making them essentially $.24 each. I also got 2 of the EOS hand creams on sale 2/$6 and got back 3000 pts, 2 of the nivea lip balms 2/$5 with a $3 off 2 coupon making the $1 each. Next I found on the clearance shelf always panty liners on clearance for $.98 each so I grabbed 2 and used a $2 off 2 coupon making them 2 off $.96.  Picked up 4 of the Glade solid air freshners on sale 2 for $1.99 used 2 $2  coupons making them all free and gave me 1000 pts. Got 2 Cascade dish gel packs on sale for 3.99 had 2 $1 coupons making both only $2.99. And last for the first transaction I got 4 cases of Pepsi that I used the in ad coupon for 4/$10.92 along with a $2 off 3 manufacture coupon I found in our local EconoFoods ad making them 4/$8.92. After everything I paid just over $28 and got 11000 pts back so not bad but could of been less if I didnt add more than planned into my cart. Second transaction almost identical but I didnt get the always liners instead I got 3 Hallmark cards for $.99 each and used $2 off 3 coupon making all 3 $.97 and I got back 1000 pts. This transaction cost me a lil over $29 and I got 12000 pts back. My last transaction I did a lil different I got 4 of the Scott Naturals paper towel 6 packs on sale for $5. I used the store coupon for $1 off each and a $.75 coupon for each making them only $3.25 a piece, so not bad. I also got my parents their Scotts toilet paper 12 pack on sale for $7.99 and it had $1 peelie on it making it only $6.99. Got  2 more of the always liners on clearance with coupon. Picked up 6 off the Nice! throw away spoons, forks, and knives for $.99 each. And lastly got 2 Revlon tweezers that were on sale buy one get one 50% off. They were $2.99 and $1.50. I had the $1 off Revlon tools from the Oct book that took off $1 each and a coupon that I stacked with it to take off $2 more making both $.49 and I got back 1000 pts. This transaction ended just over $29 as well and I got back 7000 pts. So I total I spent about $87 and got 30000 pts back which is almost $35 making all of it esentially $52 after tax. So I spent some money doing all this but I didnt get each transaction as low as I could have if I'd have got things that I could of got cheaper after coupons. But instead I got alot of things that also got me points and other things that we need around the house alot that helped get my totals up to $30 easily to get the 5000 pts back. I'm pretty happy with all of it, the retail of it all was a lil over $190 worth kf stuff so just thought I'd share what I picked up. As always happy shopping!

cheap cookies and light bulbs @ target!

Hey there thought I'd do a quick post on two Target deals I found on www.totallytarget.com so you'd know! If you go to the coupons at Targets website there are 2 coupons to print and you can print 2 of each. First one is $1 off 2 Pillsbury baking items. Second is $2 off 1 GE lightbulb item. Now after you have those coupons printed off, go to coupons.com and print off 2 of there $1 off 2 Pillsbury cookie dough coupons. Also in Sept. we  got a $1 off GE Bulbs in one of our newspaper inserts. All of these will stack great at Target! Some of their cookie doughs are as low as $1.29. That means when you buy 2 and stack the 2  coupons (1 target and 1 manufacture) the price can be as low as $.29 each! They also have 4 packs of GE lightbulbs for as low as $3.89. Stack the $1 and $2 coupons on that price and you can get it for as low as $.89! Really thought these were some great prices to pass on.  If you're like me, I actually really need the lightbulbs, so was very happy to find this deal! Happy savings!
